When I purchase a Photo & Ink Frame Kit, do I assemble the frame and
mat boards at home?
Yes. Our Photo & Ink Keepsakes are now sold in do-it-yourself kits.
Instructions are included with each kit as well as posted on our website.
How many prints can be taken with one print kit?
Each print kit comes with 2 ink plates. For children under 6 months, you
can take 2-3 prints per plate. Children under 3 can get 2 prints per plate.
Older children and adults can get 1 print per plate.
The ink plates are in the shape of a foot - do you have ones specially
for handprints?
No, the ink plates come in only one shape - a small rectangle with plastic
"toes" designed for ease of use when handling the ink plates.
Handprints can be taken with this plates too -- just apply the ink over
and over in sections until your child's hand is completely covered, then
take the handprint.
Can you take Adult size prints with the ink kits?
Yes. Simply re-apply the ink plate to hand or foot in sections until entire
surface is inked then take your print on white cardstock or any paper surface.
The hospital did not take my baby's footprints when he was born – how could
I take his prints at home?
We offer our Baby Safe Ink Kits sold separately, or with our Photo & Ink Frame Kit. We also offer professional finishing services for your child's ink prints with our Print Kit Pro service.
The hospital took my baby's foot prints, but they are on a form with lines going through them. Can this be removed?
Yes, as part of our Print Kit Pro service, we can repair/restore prints taken elsewhere. We suggest you scan your original and send us the file on CD or via email. Photo copies do not come out as clear and detailed.
I ordered the Print Kit Pro with picture option, what size picture should
I send?
We recommend 3.5 x 5 or larger. Photos of the baby's face and upper chest
area work best.
Can I send a photo taken with a digital camera?
Yes. Digital camera photos range from low 75 dip on up – the higher the
better. As long as your image is crisp and clear it should be acceptable
to work with. You can email your photo or send us a PC compatible CD or
Disk with your images.
What is the difference between a single and double mat?
A single mat is only one mat board that is cut to reveal the artwork. A
double mat has both an outer mat and an inner mat. The outer mat shows
the most color and is closest to the glass of the frame. The inner mat
only shows 1/4 inch frame around the window openings of the mat. Our Frame
Kits come with a double mat.
I have an idea for a keepsake design, but I don't see it listed among the products. Do you do custom layouts and framing?
Yes. Email us a description of your idea and we'll return a custom quote
to you within 24 hrs.
